TELUS Anti-Spyware

Anti-Spyware detects and quarantines spyware and tracking programs that may have been installed on your computer without your knowledge. It can even prevent spyware from being installed.

How it works

When automatic spyware protection is enabled, TELUS Anti-Spyware service runs transparently in the background to detect spyware programs and Internet Explorer spyware cookies. When a spyware program is found, the program is quarantined and prevented from running. Spyware cookies are deleted by default, but you can change this setting so that cookies are quarantined instead. You can later delete or restore quarantined programs or cookies.

Features include:

  • Automatic, continuous protection
Regular updates ensure that spyware definitions are always current. Any suspicious items are quarantined where they can be examined further for more information.

  • In-depth scheduled computer scans
TELUS Anti-Spyware allows you to scan your computer's hard drives for spyware using the Scan Now feature. Scheduling regular hard drive scans helps ensure that your computer is spyware free.

  • Trusted programs
TELUS Anti-Spyware allows you to designate 'trusted' spyware programs or cookies, in case you want to keep them on your computer. Programs or cookies designated as trusted are not identified as spyware by automatic spyware protection or by hard drive scans.
